Audillery

"Audillery is a self-guided audio tour app designed for art galleries and museums."

This project is the first app I will be designing for Google's UX design Course Certification. Artifacts from app conception to design will be found here for this case study.

As I continue to work on this project I will update this page bit by bit, so check back here for more.

Conception

An example of Sharpen.designs's prompt generator

As part of my certification course we were asked to generate some prompts using Sharpen's prompt generator. Some other options I generated were: "Design a snack ordering app for movie theatres." (a strong contender) and "Design a mobile ordering app for a food truck." Ultimately I chose "Design and audio-tour app for an art gallery." because my personal experiences at galleries could be used to empathize with users on a personal level. The other option sounded cool, but were likely already on the market.

Surveys and Empathy Maps

As with any great project, some rudimentary research is irreplaceable. Using survey monkey I created a digital survey asking participants questions regarding their experiences with visiting art galleries. I left this open to any friends and family so I could get a broad sample of people. in this case study it was simply important to attain some research results, but in actual projects research participants would be selected from a typical end user as well as users representing edge cases and those requiring accessibility tools.

The following are the resulting Empathy Maps I constructed from the feedback I received. These are designed to ask me the important information I received from participant feedback.

Taking insights from the Empathy Maps I developed these User Personas to synthesize the information into cohesive test users.
